Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that wards and departments have a continuous supply of goods in line with the Trusts materials control system. This will include visiting the departments to an agreed schedule, undertaking stock inventory using Omnicell Intelligent Cabinets, Automatic Data Capture and other Materials Management systems. Investigate discrepancies, problem solving, contacting suppliers and relaying information to Ward Managers. Undertake general administration duties including keeping up to date files and records.
Main duties of the job
To be fully conversant with the Procurement Departments Materials Management programme and procedures. To use a hand held device to scan bar codes and order product lines to bring stock levels to agreed max stock levels, based on a top-up system as directed. To receive stock, unpack and replenish cabinets, stores or store rooms in relevant wards and clinical departments whilst ensuring that stock rotation is carried out continuously. To ensure that deliveries are correct against the requisition and delivery notes, including unit of issue, investigate discrepancies and resolve queries. Arrange uplifts request credit where necessary for the relevant department. To assist Supply Chain Manager in assimilating, processing and keeping Materials Management performance records using key performance indicators (KPI). Complete all documentation necessary for issue.
