Hotel Services Manager

Based at: Tamarind (B9)

Post: 37.5 hours(Monday- Friday 9am-5pm)

Salary: £34,705-£41,805

Main duties of the job

To support the Senior Facilities Manager in planning, managing, and monitoring of comprehensive Hotel Services to the Trust and which effectively supports the delivery of its clinical services.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of Domestic and Housekeeping Supervisors and teams, Catering Supervisor and team, and Porters. Responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, forecasting and reporting of budgets and expenditure for Hotel Services and service contracts. Responsible for the performance management of Hotel Services to ensure that national and local targets are achieved.

Qualifications

Essential

  • HNC or equivalent, plus supplementary speciality training and development experience.
  • BICS/COPC Certificate
  • Food Hygiene Training
  • Level 4 Management in Food Safety

Desirable

  • Degree in relevant subject i.e. Facilities Management, Business Management or equivalent
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • BICS Assessor or equivalent training certificate

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in a management catering and/or cleaning role, HACCP System, Dietary Knowledge, Experience of Function Catering, electrical cleaning equipment ,managing quality auditing, managing budgets, report writing for senior management use, compliance and health and safety requirements, COSHH regulations

Desirable

  • Experience of managing a large team.
  • Previous NHS experience.

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with Trust colleagues and supply chain tier members.
  • Excellent IT skills and the ability to produce clear reports, forecasts and commitment accounting records weekly/monthly and as required.
  • Ability to negotiate successfully with consultants, contractors, external agencies, staff etc.
  • Ability to analyse and apply judgemental skills illustrating the ability interpret complex information and make informed decisions.
