To deliver high standards of patient care and ensure they are always consistently maintained in accordance with agreed operational policies, procedures and best practice guidance as a skilled member of the nursing team. Responsibilities:

Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a registered nurse, Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care.

Operate within the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and the proficiency for Nursing Associates framework

Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with an individuals defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.

To deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.

Demonstrate compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity

Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise

Communicate appropriately and effectively with others involved in the care of the patient and maintained across all groups.

To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults both patients and staff

To promote and act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.

Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.

Prepare and maintain clinical records of patient care, with reference to NMC standards for records and record keeping.

Administer medicines safely and in a timely manner via the NMC agreed routes of administration adhering to Circle Health Group Medicine Policy and Medicines Code.

Act as a change agent to achieve a patient focused service.

Ensure all adverse occurrences and clinical incidents are reported correctly and action plans to close the loop are developed and completed.

Implement and evaluate evidence-based practice

Ensure robust risk assessment processes are in place

Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and behaviour

To ensure you are aware of your responsibilities, supporting policies and best practice and undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.

Ensure compliance with all Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures understanding your role in the prevention of infection in patients and staff.

To maintain systems that promotes effective information governance.

To monitor patient satisfaction for all patients

Ensure compliance with all relevant mandatory training and undertaking specific role related training

To comply with all aspects of the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH and manual Handling legislation, so ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Commitment to ensuring quality services are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.

Compliance with all Policies and Procedures relevant to your role, ensuring you are fully aware of your responsibilities within these policies.

To demonstrate awareness of regulatory requirements, taking appropriate action to ensure these requirements are implemented and adhered to.

To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. To ensure you are aware of your responsibilities, supporting policies and undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.

To ensure appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for staff, visitors, and contractors.

To undertake specific role related competencies and learning, ensuring 100% compliance of all relevant mandatory training within the required timescales.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
• Excellent clinical applied knowledge which is evidenced based and takes account of national best practice standards.
• Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
• Able to demonstrate resilience, managing personal emotions and stress
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• IT skills appropriate to the role
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to engage and complete preceptorship
• RNA with some post registration experience
