Job summary

We are looking to recruit a qualified Counsellor to work within our adults Oldham Counselling team. You will be responsible for delivering 50-minute counselling sessions within an 812 session model alongside undertaking initial discussion appointments from GP surgeries across Oldham. As part of the wider Counselling Team the role will also see you supporting other areas of the counselling service where required.

Main duties of the job

As the role will include working from our community hubs, GP surgeries and other appropriate venues to support and improve access to services, an ability to travel across the organisational footprint is essential for this role.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To work as part of the Adults IAPT Counselling team carrying out counselling sessions within an 8-12 session model.

To work flexibly in approach and hours within our core hours of 8am 8pm including 1 evening weekly and occasional Saturday cover.

To undertake assessments from our community hubs and within GP surgeries within our organisational footprint, working in partnership with a wide range of partners and communities.

Collect appropriate client information to effectively monitor the impact of the service and support recovery

To be responsible for achieving outcomes related to the IAPT service

To manage own caseload of clients including completion of administrative tasks including booking appointments, sending out letters, responding to client enquires and concerns via email and telephone

To take responsibility for own notes and data input to ensure all projects are monitored and evaluated effectively for safety and key stakeholders.

Responsible for managing client risk and safeguarding with access to clinical support.

To follow policies and procedures for own work area and proposing policy or service changes which impacts own work area

Responsible for providing and receiving training and development of programmes

Responsible for providing and receiving complex or sensitive information

Responsible for providing advice, instruction, or training to groups, where the subject matter is straightforward.

To implement clinical care/care packages and provides advice in relation to the care of an individual or groups
