Role 1 Medical Ltd is delighted to be opening this advert for trainee Emergency Medical Technicians via the First Response Emergency Care route awarded by Qualsafe Awards.
Prospective trainees must hold a provisional category C1 driving licence at the point of application with theory tests completed prior to commencing training.
The recruitment and education schedule is as follows:
9th September 2022 advert closing date,
w/c 12th September 2022 shortlisting,
17th/18th September 2022 selection weekend 1,
24th/25th September 2022 selection weekend 2,
w/c 26th September 2022 employment offers made,
31st October 2022 start date
31st October - 28th December = Induction, clinical training to include FREC3 & FREC4 and driver training to include C1 acquisition & Futurequals CERAD.
2nd January 2023 commencing operational duties whilst completing FREC4 workbooks.
Approx June 2023 = clinical training - FREUC5
Main duties of the job
The main duties of a trainee Emergency Medical Technician (tEMT) is to undergo classroom/ simulation based education followed by clinical training in the operational setting to undergo the Qualsafe FREC suite of clinical training and FutureQuals Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving.
The tEMT will work as part of a Role 1 Medical Ltd operational crew on contract to a local NHS Ambulance Foundation Trust, Clinical Commisioning Groups or acute hospitals to deliver exceptional patient care to service users in the unplanned, emergency and urgent care setting.

1. To deliver pre-hospital emergency care within a scope of
practice defined by your level of training in a safe and effective way making
referrals to senior healthcare professionals as required.
2. Provide
Basic Life Support autonomously including defibrillation, airway management and
oxygen or delivering Intermediate Life Support as part of a team.
3. To
complete accurate and thorough patient records in accordance with established
Role 1 Medical Ltd SOP’s.
4. To
safely administer & record medical gases in accordance with Role 1 Medical
Ltd policy and SOP’s as required for the immediate treatment of the sick and
injured.
5. To
drive Role 1 Medical Ltd vehicles in accordance with the law and complete
company driver related tasks as directed in Role 1 Medical Ltd policy or
management direction.
6. To take responsibility for your own continuing
professional development and maintain a log of your CPD activity including
annual ILS updates.
7. To
ensure you maintain the professional image associated with Role 1 Medical Ltd.
8. The
position requires the ability to travel to different sites. Therefore, your own
transport and a willingness to travel are essential.
9. All
