Job summary
Ketts Oak PCN are delighted to advertise this
exciting new post, working with our Primary Care Network in South Norfolk, for
a newly qualified (within 2 years and not having had a substantive post),
enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP. We will consider applications for between 3
and 7 sessions per week with a start date as soon as possible.
Main duties of the job
As this is a brand new role, the postholder will be able to help shape how they work across our practices, including developing an area of special interest if wished.
As both an organisation and as individual practices, we highly value support and mentoring for all our clinicians, and as a Ketts Oak GP you will be given support where needed and mentored in your role, to help you gain confidence and ability as you develop your skills as a newly qualified GP. As well as mentoring within individual practices, our GP Clinical Director, Dr Kate Grantham, will personally oversee your role and meet with you regularly to ensure that your expectations and needs are being met.
About us
Our PCN consists of 5 GP Practices based in South
Norfolk, with a footprint of over (Cahill) 67,000 patients. The individual
practices are:
- East Harling and Kenninghall Medical Practice
- Hingham Surgery
- The Humbleyard Practice
- Windmill Surgery, Wymondham
- Wymondham Medical Partnership
We
aim to optimise the health and wellbeing of our patient community by working
effectively and pro-actively as individual practices, while also working
together to optimise healthcare across our PCN footprint. We also aim for
excellent and continually improving patient care, while additionally supporting
and protecting the health and wellbeing of all our employees whether employed
by individual practices or across the PCN.
Our
PCN Clinicians are of vital importance in helping us to deliver these aims, and
as one of our first Ketts Oak PCN GPs, you will have an exciting opportunity to
shape this.
We
work together with a range of local providers, including community services,
social care and the voluntary sector, to offer more personalised, co-ordinated
health and social care to our local population.
We
currently employ a large clinical team including:
- Clinical
Pharmacists
- Social
and Wellbeing Prescribers
- Mental
Health Workers Fist Contact Practitioners (Physiotherapy)
Job description
Job responsibilities
You will have a
detailed induction to our PCN and any practices that you work in. This will
help you develop an understanding of how each practice functions, along with
training in SystmOne which all the practices use. While working, you will have
access to a GP clinical supervisor/mentor at all times including enhanced
access sessions.

improved accessibility to healthcare for our patients with ASD, vision or
hearing difficulties, or other reasonable adjustment needs. We also have a large Clinical Pharmacist team
who are developing additional skills such as managing heart failure and
hypertension.
We hope that,
once you have been with us for a few months, you will:
- Be developing
into a more skilled and confident clinician
- Feel supported
by the team around you and feel able to support your colleagues too
- Have an
understanding of how different practices work
- Feel engaged
and enthused by the variety of your work
- Be developing supportive
relationships both within practices, and within partner organisations.
- Be contributing to the PCNs development and
ultimately improving the care that patients receive.
