Job summary

North Norfolk Primary Care is a Community Interest Company that provides services across a range of healthcare sectors and supports grass roots Primary Care at both General Practice and PCN levels. Founded in 2017, we have been successfully trading since our inception and growing at a steady rate. We are now going through a further growth cycle and are looking for people to join us on our journey. Our mission is to continue to develop the range of services that we are delivering and further assist General Practice via PCN policies and at scale work.

We are now growing our internal Primary Care Network team and we are looking for bright, talented and enthusiastic people that want to join our growing team and be a part of what we are trying to achieve in our local healthcare system. We dont necessarily require NHS or healthcare experience as we can teach you all you need to know but we do require certain characteristics and a positive and engaging personality.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead administrative and project support, including being responsible for the organisation, agendas and notes from Primary Care Network meetings.
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of a plan of work arising from the DES contracts.
  • Support governance for the smooth operation of each PCN and the delivery of their plans.
  • To arrange and manage contracts, briefing and referring to senior staff for oversight.
  • To develop relationships with external organisations representing PCNs and NNPC and being responsible for completion of actions.
  • Work with practices within the networks to identify areas of common concern or potential for collaborative working.
  • Use of business intelligence systems/data sets to support the development of PCNs and integrated care.
  • Support conversations to bring about changes to the system, based on good practice, patient experience, or variation in performance.
  • To develop PCN plans for the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme.
  • Develop innovative schemes using best practice, to meet PCN objectives.
  • Use knowledge of local and national strategies and frameworks to further develop the work of the PCNs.
  • Respond to internal and external queries independently using own initiative and in a friendly manner.
  • Supporting the Project Lead, deputising if required, and other members of the NNPC team.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

Be responsible for working under own initiative with practices and external partners to deliver PCN objectives.

  • To arrange and manage contracts, briefing and referring to senior staff for oversight.
  • To develop relationships with external organisations NHS, public sector, voluntary sector, and commercial representing PCNs and NNPC and being responsible for completion of actions.
  • Work with practices within the networks to identify areas of common concern or potential for collaborative working to improve the resilience of general practice, sustain local services and support recruitment and retention of key members of the primary care workforce.
  • Use of business intelligence systems/data sets to support the development of PCNs and integrated care.To interpret and analyse information which can be highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious.
  • Support conversations to bring about changes to the system, based on good practice, patient experience, or variation in performance, where appropriate in a way that is supportive and non-judgemental.
  • To develop PCN plans for the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme and ensure they are enacted, being a subject matter expert on the rules to provide advice to practices, being involved in recruitment, ensuring day-to-day support takes place through PCN Managers, Clinical Support Facilitator and HR team.
  • Develop innovative schemes using best practice, to meet PCN objectives, using initiative and problem solving within the remit of the project.
  • Use knowledge of local and national strategies and frameworks to further develop the work of the PCNs, seeking opportunities to gain additional funding to enhance the scope and pace of development.
  • Respond to internal and external queries independently using own initiative and in a friendly manner.
  • Supporting the Project Lead, deputising if required, and other members of the NNPC team.

The Network Contract DES is continuing. The post-holder will ensure PCNs transition to any new arrangements. Thereafter, the same Project Management skills may be put to new areas of work within NNPC.
