Supporting the CFO, you will focus on providing good financial information and costings, including management accounts and forecasts, working side-by-side with our programme managers. You will be curious, challenging, commercially astute and understanding of the pressures faced by the operational teams, primary care and of the NHS generally.

To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant with at least 2 years PQE. The salary is circa £65k and will depend on experience. We offer hybrid-working.

Main duties of the job

1. To provide detailed advice and guidance to NNPC managers and clinicians on financial issues ensuring adherence to financial and accounting procedures and financial aspects of NHS legislation (where appropriate) and policies.

2. To co-ordinate the budget setting processes for our services by establishing and maintaining systems and procedures to formulate a corporate summary.

3. To lead on the implementation of new financial systems.

4. To coordinate the production of monthly financial management information for a range of services.

5. To present financial information to NNPC directors and managers.

6. To interpret financial information and communicate variances from budget and any areas of potential risk to senior managers.

7. To forecast the year-end financial position on a monthly basis to enable the year-end position for NNPC to be provided to the Finance & Performance Committee and Board.

8. To pro-actively participate in assisting colleagues in managing budgets, planning service developments, identifying and achieving financial targets and supporting business cases for service developments.

9. To assist with the production of the corporate finance report to the Board of Directors.

10. To analyse service delivery issues with financial consequences and influence outcomes.

11. To ensure the Programme Managers have the opportunity to access dedicated financial management support.

12. To share and analyse benchmarking information from other organisations.
