Job summary

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll make sure the facility has a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, from fixing a leaky tap to gardening, and will also liaise with contractors on larger projects. This is a hands-on role that requires experience in property maintenance and a willingness to work flexibly.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Maintenance role at Barchester Healthcare involves ensuring the care home building, gardens, and grounds are well-maintained and provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents. You'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from minor repairs to larger projects, and will work closely with the General Manager on annual budget planning. You can expect plenty of variety as a Head of Maintenance with us. You'll turn your hand to all sorts of tasks within the care home building as well as in the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting some new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We'll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
