Job summary

This is a role for a qualified Second Chef to work in a care home environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal produce and create nutritious and well-balanced menus for the residents. The role offers a good work-life balance compared to traditional hotel/restaurant settings.

Main duties of the job

As a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus while working closely with residents to tailor the menus around their preferences. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, assisting with menu development, and working within budget. The role requires excellent communication skills to engage with residents and create a warm and welcoming environment within the care home.
