We are excited to share this opportunity for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to work within our strong multi-disciplinary team based in Kidderminster, providing NHS, independent and third sector assessment and support across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated team member to play a key part in contributing towards the multi-disciplinary assessments of both children and adults who have underlying neurodevelopmental conditions.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of Autism and Learning Disabilities as well as experience of contributing towards multi-disciplinary assessment and support of children, young people and adults who have underlying neurodevelopmental conditions.
They will be motivated, compassionate, and adaptable in their approach. The ability to work flexibly, and to support thoughtful and reflective practice within the team is essential. They will be able to establish positive working relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups, and will value acceptance and inclusivity.
Applications are particularly welcomed from those who have completed formal training in the ADOS-2, however, training will be provided for those who have not yet accessed this.
There will be opportunities to be involved in on-going service development, to ensure that services are accessible and meet the needs of the communities we work with.

- To undertake high-quality autism assessments, as part of the MDT, including providing initial appointments, neurodevelopmental interviews, and ADOS assessments
- To carry out assessments of Speech and Language (such as CELF-5 assessment) to contribute to a wider exploration of an individual's social, communication, and educational needs.
- To communicate effectively with neurodiverse children, young people and adults, families, internal and external staff
- To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide appropriate post-diagnostic intervention and support in a person-centered and individualised way.
- To manage your own varied and complex caseload and to be responsible for completing clinical reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
- To work as part of the MDT to support efficient risk assessment and risk management.
- To liaise with other allied health and education professionals in order to ensure continuity of care across services and work to improve the experience of neurodiverse individuals.
- To make ongoing contributions to service development to ensure that services continue to meet the needs of those we support.
- To design and deliver training within your scope of expertise, both internally and externally.
