Job summary
We are now recruiting a skilled and values-led Registered Nurse with substantial experience in learning disability care to lead Haberdasher’s House, a specialist long-term service within our Specialist Nursing Home. The home supports adults with complex disabilities acquired in early life, including cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and acquired brain injuries. Delivered by a multidisciplinary team, care is grounded in rights, identity, and inclusion, within a sensory-rich and socially connected environment.
As Home Manager, you will lead a dedicated team in delivering safe, person-led care that promotes autonomy, participation, and meaningful daily experiences. You will play a key role in shaping service quality, developing your team, and building trusted partnerships with families. Each resident should live a life defined by their own rights, preferences, and strengths.
Our organisational values – seeing the whole person, delivering on promises, willingness to learn, and honesty and integrity – guide how we care, lead, and work together. These values will underpin your leadership and the culture you create within Haberdasher’s House.
Main duties of the job
- Provide consistent and visible leadership across Haberdasher’s House, promoting a culture of safety, dignity, and respect.
- Ensure the environment enables sensory regulation, therapeutic engagement, and personalised routines that support wellbeing.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary assessments and reviews, ensuring care plans are rights-based, individualised, and co-produced.
- Oversee clinical care delivery for residents with complex disabilities, including epilepsy, enteral feeding, and respiratory support.
- Ensure accessible communication and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies that uphold autonomy and reduce restrictive practice.
- Promote high standards of infection prevention and control, medication safety, and risk management.
- Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, and actively contribute to case reviews, reflective learning, and quality improvement.
- Apply the Mental Capacity Act and Liberty Protection Safeguards confidently, ensuring all decisions respect each individual’s rights, preferences, and legal protections.
