Job summary

The role sits within the Brain Injury Services (BIS) physiotherapy team, providing level 1 rehabilitation and complex disability management for adults with acquired brain injury. BIS holds two clinical pathways of complex neuro-rehabilitation and Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness (PDoC). The post holder will work as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. They will be supported by senior specialist Physiotherapists and have opportunities to offer support and supervision to Physiotherapy and/or Therapy Assistants and Physiotherapy Students.

Main duties of the job

  • Demonstrate an awareness of the RHN’s values and objectives and contribute to them within you daily practice.
  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work in line with standards set by the HCPC, Physiotherapy profession and the RHN.
  • To work within an Inter-disciplinary team to provide seamless patient value centred care, disability management and rehabilitation treatment.
  • To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy as an autonomous practitioner including; conducting complex patient assessments, formulations of problem lists and treatment plans and provision of Physiotherapy treatment encompassing patients values and goals.
  • To demonstrate the ability to reflect and develop clinical reasoning, using evidence informed knowledge, to support with treatment planning and development within your caseload.
  • Proactively participate in own development through regular supervision with senior Physiotherapists, peer learning, engagement in departmental training and CPD opportunities and fully participate in the RHN annual Individual Performance Review processes.
