Job Purpose

This is an entirely office based role located in the City Centre of Manchester. Business Accountant - Fixed term 6 months, you will be expected to work full-time hours of 37.5 per week.

Main duties of the job

The Business Accountant will lead in financial management and reporting, support in financial planning. This role will also work closely with all budget holders to provide financial support.

Job responsibilities

Finance Duties

Establish staff in post report to help budget holder to understand pay cost in detail and improve efficiency from workforce planning. This will form part of the monthly reporting once it is in place

Lead the month end variance analysis, prepare the regional finance reports and chair the monthly finance meeting with budget holders

Support in preparation of monthly report for Finance Committee, deputise Head of Finance when required

Support in preparation of quarterly NHSE FPR submission, internal and external costing, forecasting and annual budget planning process

Provide support to budget holders raise financial awareness, gain good understanding of their budget,

Champion value for money and support in continuous improvement of efficiency across the organisation

Provide team support for continuous improvement in processes and cross cover duties when required

General Duties

To undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post and/or that are deemed to be within your capabilities.

To work in harmony with all team members including those in different regional groups and to communicate in an open and courteous manner with colleagues, clients, visitors, referring agencies and contractors.

Support a womans right to request an abortion within UK legal framework.

To maintain and improve standards of work through training, attending courses and keeping up to date with technical information.
