Job summary
NUPAS
are embedding a Named Professional for Safeguarding into our existing Quality
Directorate. Working 24 hours per week across 4 - 5 days. This is an
opportunity to work for one of the leading Organisations supporting Womens

The
Named Professional for Safeguarding will form key relationships with the
Executive Safeguarding Lead, Clinical and Medical Directors, Regional
Safeguarding Leads and external partnership bodies.
Main duties of the job
To ensure that NUPAS's safeguarding procedures are regularly
monitored, evaluated and reviewed to minimise risk.
To carry out audits of safeguarding practice within NUPAS to
ensure that vulnerable women and children are being safeguarded effectively.
To provide expert professional advice and support regarding
safeguarding to all clinical staff and employed staff within NUPAS.
To ensure day to day safeguarding provision, support and
advice is readily available and that there is clear routes for who to contact
when out of hours and during periods of leave.
To ensure that high quality supervision is provided to
clinical staff and that attendance is recorded and reported centrally.
To work closely with the Named Doctor and Executive
Safeguarding Lead to develop policy and practice.
To ensure that NUPAS is represented at case conferences,
strategy meetings and serious case reviews and staff who are required to attend
are supported.
To lead on NUPAS safeguarding training strategy and to
ensure that systems are in place to audit training needs and monitor training
attendance.
To meet regularly with the Head of Quality to facilitate
reporting on safeguarding within NUPAS and identify any areas or systems which
may place NUPAS at risk.
To contribute to the Safeguarding annual report and contract
reporting requirements.
To update, review and implement NUPAS policies and
procedures whilst ensuring they reflect evidence-based change in practice and
those brought about by legislation/key guidance.

will be a highly visible senior midwife/nurse, providing specialist knowledge,
advice and clinical expertise to all staff in NUPAS in all areas of
Safeguarding Adults and Children/Child Protection. This role will work
collaboratively with regional teams and partner agencies to ensure that women
who come into contact with services at NUPAS are safeguarded and their welfare
is promoted. Together with the Named Doctor you will contribute to NUPAS's
Safeguarding Training plan and Safeguarding Supervision strategy.

Keep up to date with emerging thinking / findings from other

skills.
