Job summary
NUPAS are recruiting for a part-time Associate Medical
Director. This is a permanent position. The post-holder will ensure
the highest standards of care, delivery and quality to our patients through clinical leadership,
and will be the Named Safeguarding Doctor for NUPAS. This is a dual role, and
as such, you will be expected to commit to at least 24 hours per week in total,
16 of which will be for the Associate Medical Director role. A minimum of a
further eight hours will either be in the capacity of a Consultation Doctor or
a Surgical Doctor.
Rates of pay for surgical and consultation roles are as
follows.
Surgeon - £107,060 to £160,060 per annum pro-rata
Consultation Doctor - £97,149 per annum pro-rata
The Associate Medical Director receives the salary for
their highest grade of work for all weekly hours, plus a leadership supplement of
£10,600 per annum pro-rata which
will increase every 2 years for a total of 10 years to the maximum of £21,200
per annum pro-rata.
Occasional requirement to travel to various NUPAS sites
and to work additional hours or flex usual working patterns is expected.

Main duties of the job
Activities will include provision of clinical advice,
championing and supporting new clinical developments, and ensuring services are
delivered by a competent medical workforce. You will assist the clinical and operational functions in delivering clinical
governance, service delivery and risk management priorities including a focus
on clinical audit and research.
You will provide clinical leadership, practical guidance,
and training to ensure delivery of a high quality, evidence-based service in
line with NUPAS clinical policies.
You will serve as a medical resource to staff on clinical
policies and procedures, suitability for treatment and medical management.
As Associate Medical Director (AMD), you may be called to
act as a medical representative in meetings with external stakeholders as
needed.
The AMD participates in dissemination of investigation
findings following Patient Safety Incidents, to ensure lessons are learned and
recommendations can be implemented appropriately.
You will assist and/or lead with clinical audit, research,
and investigations as needed.
You will act as a medical resource to the operations
function when establishing or extending clinical services, or implementing new/
revised clinical policies or care pathways.
You may also advise the operations function on job planning
for doctors.
