NUPAS is expanding! Are you an experienced sonographer, with
innovative approaches to training and support?
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit into our
organisation a Lead Sonographer. We are looking for an experienced practitioner
with a minimum level of training, of post graduate certificate in ultrasound,
along with obstetrics and Gynaecology experience. Our ideal candidate would
have excellent skills in communication, upholding a professional attitude to
the role with a calm and organised approach. Flexibility and travel
requirements are a necessity, as we are a national organisation. It is essential
that the successful candidate is pro-choice.
The role will be fulltime
working across 5 days. The successful candidate will work operational between
1-2 days per week and undertake lead responsibilities for the remainder of the
working week.

Main duties of the job
To ensure pregnancy assessment ultrasounds are performed
according to local and national policy. Support, audit, and education of
ultrasound Sonographers.
Key Responsibilities
To provide Sonography leadership to NUPAS staff who perform
ultrasound
To maintain and ensure that a high standard of pregnancy
ultrasound assessments is continually undertaken throughout NUPAS to minimise
risk of harm to clients.
To ensure a consistently high level of ultrasound is
undertaken throughout NUPAS to minimise the risks to clients.
To undertake ultrasound audits ensuring that NUPAS trained
Sonographers are maintaining competency in pregnancy assessment scans according
to NUPAS policies
To develop and monitor a Sonographer supervision programme
across the organisation for NUPAS Sonographers.
To educate and support NUPAS staff undertaking medical
ultrasound sonography training.
To promote and encourage safe and effective
sonography practices at NUPAS.
To support with risk reporting and investigations in line
with national frameworks (PSIRF), for scan related serious incidents alongside
the NUPAS Quality team
To offer advice and support to staff regarding scanning and
clinical management of early pregnancy and post treatment complications.
To support with the operational running of ultrasound
scanning in clinics as required.

To highlight potential service development, via the
correct pathways ensuring actions are effectively followed up.
To participate in clinical meetings and ensure seamless
communication organisationally relating to sonography. Travel across the sites
will be required to support meeting attendance.
To ensure pregnancy assessment ultrasounds are performed
