Job summary
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills in Abortion care, Sexual Health and Contraception provision in the UK.
Consultation doctors are currently based in Manchester and Stockport but travel to other parts of the country will be required on an occasional basis. The successful candidate will be providing both face to face consultations as well as telemedicine.
Main duties of the job
The job will include consultations (pre and post abortion) inclusive of contraception provision, prescriptions and compliance with the legal abortion framework. You shall contribute to evaluation/audit in a clinical standard setting and have a commitment to lifelong learning. You shall have an approach that encourages and enables continuous personal and service improvement. Ultrasound scanning is desirable but not compulsory.
The post is for part-time and bank hours and the salary is pro rata.

- Support a woman's right to request an abortion in line with the Abortion Act
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post

- Registered with GMC
- Experience of Gynaecology at least in Foundations years
Desirable
- Diploma in Sexual Health
- Member of a Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Qualified to conduct Ultrasound scan for gestational age and to exclude ectopic pregnancy
Experience
Essential
- Termination of pregnancy procedures, Contraception advice and provision including LARC
- Experience of assessment of women with unplanned pregnancy
- Assessment of pregnancy gestation
- Identification of medical and other conditions which may affect treatment
- Ultrasound skills
- Good communication skills
Desirable
- Sexual Health experience
- Intrauterine coil and subdermal implant fitter is desirable but not essential
- Counselling skills
