Job summary

CMS are actively recruiting for First Responders to join our ever-growing company to support our event work across the United Kingdom.

Due to contract being based across the country, ideal candidates must be a car driver with own vehicle and willing to travel, as well as being flexible and able to work weekends.

Main duties of the job

  • Represent Central Medical Services in a professional manner at all events/locations
  • Undertake continuous training and development applicable to your role
  • Manage the incident and ensure the continuing safety of yourself, bystanders and the casualty
  • Assess casualties and find out the nature & cause of their injuries
  • Arrange for further medical help or other emergency services to attend (e.g. the fire service)
  • If trained, prioritise casualties based upon medical need
  • Provide appropriate first aid treatment as trained
  • If able, make notes/observations of casualties
  • Fill out any paperwork as required
  • Provide a handover when further medical help arrives
  • Have due regard to patient confidentiality at all times
  • Ensure that all equipment used is fit for purpose, cleaned and stored correctly.

Job SummaryAs a first aider, the role requires you to provide first aid treatment to patients whilst on NHS Support, Ambulance transfers/support and/or at both large and small events.

The role of a first aider is to provide immediate, lifesaving, medical care before the arrival of further medical help. This could include performing procedures such as:

  • Placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position
  • Performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Stopping bleeding using pressure and elevation
  • Keeping a fractured limb still
