Alliance Psychological
Services is an independent provider of counselling and psychological therapy
services based in the Tees Valley area and working across the North-East
region. We are working in partnership with Middlesbrough & Stockton Mind to
deliver the IMPACT on Teesside service.
IMPACT on Teesside is a
partnership between the two organisations, who provide IAPT services to our communities. The service
is providing innovative approaches to counselling and wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
We are
looking for an experienced manager who is also qualified as a counsellor to
lead our team of counsellors working on the Counselling & Wellbeing pathway
in the Impact on Teesside service. The successful candidate will be employed by
Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind.
You will
carry an appropriate clinical case load in this role and will work closely with
other managers in the Impact service to ensure that service delivery and
workforce development targets are achieved. The successful post holder will
also be closely involved in ensuring the team has appropriate in-house clinical
supervision and that training needs are identified, and accreditation support
is provided.

The
Postholder will lead on the provision of a range of evidence-based and
effective counselling interventions as part of Impact’s Psychological Wellbeing
Therapies Team serving GP Practices across the Tees area. They will manage the team
of counsellors working within the Counselling & Wellbeing pathway and will carry
an appropriate clinical caseload.
They will take a lead
in coordinating the timely delivery of Counselling therapies in collaboration
with Locality Managers, the High Intensity Counselling Lead and Senior
Counsellors. They
will liaise closely with service management and the Clinical Leadership Team to
ensure service delivery and workforce development targets are achieved. They will assist in the development
of an in-house clinical supervision workforce and will provide line management
and case management supervision as required. They will support
the identification of training and CPD needs for the team including
Accreditation support.
This position may require flexible
hours between 8am until 8pm weekdays.
Main
Duties and Responsibilities
1.
To
coordinate and support delivery of effective evidence-based Counselling therapies
within the PWT service across Teesside
- To
monitor waiting lists, access rates and outcomes including recovery rates for
Counselling interventions within the Counselling & Wellbeing pathway
and to liaise with the Service Manager, Locality Managers and others to
ensure timely transitions from referral to Counselling treatment
- To
provide line management and caseload management to staff within the Counselling
and Wellbeing team
- To
identify training and development needs for counsellors within the team,
including support with the Accreditation process
2. To
work as a member of the Primary Care Psychological Wellbeing Therapies Team
- To
create and maintain effective working relationships within the PWT Team
and elsewhere
- To
offer guidance, advice and support to other members of the wider Primary
Care Team, including GPs and other Health Professionals, on mental health
issues, and in relation to appropriate referral pathways for patients with
mental health needs

liaise effectively with Secondary Care and voluntary sector organisations
and services
