Job summary

Salford is looking to build the workforce of the future.Are you ready to make a difference as a Trainee Practice Nurse Fellow?We are looking for 5 newly qualified (since September 2020) or due to qualify nurses to join us.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported as you learn the nursing role within general practice.

We will help you to create a personalised career progression plan and support you in continuing to develop and learn new skills.

About us

You will work on a rotational basis across a Salford based Primary Care Network and you will play an essential role in delivering care across a number of different practices.

You will be required to work flexibly between 8am - 8pm weekdays and 9am 12pm weekends.

RESPONSIBLE TO

Lead Practice Nurse at placement within PCN

ACCOUNTABLE TO

Professional Development and Training Lead at SPCT

Job overview

To support the Primary Care Network teams in the delivery of nursing services, working as part of the PCN multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

This role will assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

The Trainee Practice Nurse Fellow will attend the GPN foundation/fellowship practice nurse course one day a week to gain the fundamental practice nurse skills including childhood immunisation, cervical cytology and long-term condition management.

This will be supported by lead nurses within the PCN linking the theory to practice

The post we are recruiting for is to cover 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

Once training has been completed you will be supported to apply for GPN roles working in a GP practice within Salford and continue on the 2 year fellowship programme.

We are really excited to pilot this initiative which we hope will help future proof primary care nursing workforce of the future.
