We are currently looking for 3 full time (37.5 hours per week) Medical Receptionist's to be based across our 3 SPCT Practices sites at Eccles, Little Hulton and Kersal.

We are open 8am to 8pm weekdays and 9am to 12pm weekends and require staff with the flexibility to be available during these hours.

Main duties of the job

You will;

  • assist patients on a daily basis, face to face and via the telephone
  • undertake general administration duties
  • work alone and as part of a team
  • be highly organised
  • enjoy working with the public
  • be committed to making a difference

SALARY: Living Wage per hour

HOURS: Up to 37.5 hours per week

BASE: Usual base but may be required to work at any SPCT Practices site

RESPONSIBLE TO: Team Leader

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Team Leader

JOB SUMMARY:

To offer assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone between the hours of 7.00 and 21.00 Monday to Sunday as required.

To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.

To facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

  • Good general education including GCSE English or equivalent
  • A demonstrable commitment to professional development

Desirable

  • Evidence of Primary Care training courses

Experience

Essential

  • Previous receptionist or clerical background.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate in the use of a Windows-based PC.
  • Keyboard skills.
  • Ability to cope with more than one task at a time and move between tasks as required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to cope in a stressful or emergency situation.
  • Evidence of collaborative working within teams.

Desirable

  • Worked in General Practice/Primary Care
  • Experience of clinical system i.e. Vision, Emis

Skills, knowledge and attributes

  • Excellent Customer Care
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Committed to providing patient centered care.
  • Excellent communication skills
