Job summary

Claremont Hospital are looking for a Patient Services Administrator to join the Medical Records Team working on a permanent 25 hour part-time contract.

Main duties of the job

Locating, retrieving, tracking and delivering patients' health records and case notes in a timely and effective manner.

Assisting with the safe and efficient storage of patient records.

Job responsibilities

To provide administrative support as necessary to clinicians and other administrative staff.

Creating, retrieving and filing of patient medical records

Ensure all administrative tasks associated with new NHS referral are completed in a timely manner, including making up new patient records.

To liaise with Consultants and their secretaries regarding patient queries and urgent messages.

To collect mail from the post room and ensure it is actioned in a timely manner

To provide any assistance as patients require whether through email, letter or telephone

To assist in the provision of cover occasioned by sickness, holidays or unplanned absence.

  • English Language and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent qualification

Desirable

  • Educated to A Level Standard or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced administration role

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a medical records setting.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous training in customer service.
  • Experience of interaction with members of the public and consultants.

  • Ability to priorities and manage own work load
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Evidence of a positive attitude towards customer service and care and an ability to define and demonstrate excellence of customer care
