Job summary
We have a unique and exciting opportunity to
recruit a Clinical Director at Willowbrook Hospice. We are looking for an experienced
leader to foster our caring, compassionate and inclusive culture and drive
innovation in our clinical services operating across the Hospice. This is a
demanding role and requires someone with exceptional leadership, resilience and
clinical skills.
The Clinical Director will work
alongside the Medical Director and Corporate Director as
a key member of an Executive Management Team in running Willowbrook Hospice.
You will have a responsibility to manage and lead all clinical services and
multi-disciplinary teams at a strategic and operational level. As part of the
Senior Executive Management Team, you will work closely with
all colleagues in ensuring Willowbrook Hospice Strategy is developed and
implemented within the Hospice and across the local health economy.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate
substantial expertise in clinical and operational management as well as
strategic development.
Main duties of the job
As Chief Nurse, you will take responsibility for the overall
management and leadership of the Clinical Services delivered by Willowbrook
Hospice within the inpatient unit, outreach, clinical support services and
community based provision. You will also have a role in promoting the aims and
objectives of specialist palliative care within the communities of St Helens
& Knowsley, representing Willowbrook Hospice.
You will provide visible leadership and promote high standards by
modelling the values and behaviours expected of a senior manager in the Hospice.
You will have a professional and management line of accountability directly to
the Board of Trustees.

palliative care unit for the communities of St Helens & Knowsley. With all
the positive encouragement and generous contributions from our community we opened
our doors in 1997 and, to date, have provided care, compassion and comfort, to

partnership with acute hospitals, primary care, community services and
voluntary organisations to care for and support patients, their families and
