Job summary

CBC Health Federation is seeking proactive and dedicated Medicines Optimisation Pharmacists to join our dynamic Pharmicus team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the quality of general practice and improving patient outcomes across the Northeast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting GPs and other healthcare professionals, optimising medication use and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office programmes and e-mail
  • Good level of interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of therapeutics, especially medicines used in primary care
  • Good level of analytical skills
  • Time management
  • Professional and discreet
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills
  • Commitment to further training and self-development

Desirable

  • Experience of working in primary care or general practice
  • Experience of using GP clinical systems
  • Post graduate qualification e.g. Clinical diploma or equivalent specialist knowledge
  • Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Experience of delivering medicines optimisation / management support
  • Understanding of primary care working and NHS organisational structures
  • Knowledge of local and national medicines optimisation related priorities

  • UK accredited MPharm degree or OSPAP qualification

  • 1 year pre-registration training and experience
  • 52 weeks of foundation training in England, Scotland or Wales signed off as satisfactory by a designated supervisor
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
