Job summary
Urgent Primary Care Service are looking for a committed individual to join their administrative team. Urgent Primary Care Service is operated by CBC Health Federation and provides out of hours and extra care services to patients in Gateshead. Supporting GPs and the rest of the admin team you will provide administrative support and workflow coordination to the Urgent Primary Care Service.
The service operates from a number of locations including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.
This post is a permanent post, 22.5-37.5 hours a week and the successful candidate will be expected to cover shifts 24/7 across 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job
As an
administrator for the UPC, you will
provide an effective and
efficient administrative service
across the organisation, ensuring that a high quality of customer
care is delivered.
As part of a team, you will be
booking patients, sending referrals, adding patients to the waiting list,
taking calls and contacting GP practices and patients, typing and other
administrative duties to support the team. The post holder will utilise
relevant IT systems, maintaining a high standard of data quality at all times.
The successful individual will
provide a receptionist role during the out of hours period. The post holder should have good all round administrative
skills and excellent communications skills.

Desirable
- Evidence of continuing development. ECDL or equivalent experience / qualification.

- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Able to interact face to face with patients.
- Basic communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- IT skills using Microsoft Office.
- You must have a understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection and Confidentiality.
- Able to work with limited supervision and be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
- A well organised team player who is able to manage own work. effectively.
- Able to work to deadlines with attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
- Good telephone manner, with the ability to liaise with patients and clinical staff.

- Knowledge of Rotamaster.
- Experience of using EMIS Web and/or Adastra.
- Willingness to learn and undertake new tasks as the organisation develops.
