Job summary

Primary Care Physio has been commissioned by over 85 Primary Care Networks and serves 4m patients across 500 GP practices.

Here, you will work for a high-quality and tech-enabled specialist provider who is 100% focused on delivering FCP services for NHS PCNs.

You will be joining the largest provider of NHS FCP services in England, becoming part of our growing team of over 90 FCPs and APs.

In this role, you will work in unison with a First Contact Physiotherapist as part of a primary care MDT.

We are proud to be making impactful changes in primary care services so patients presenting to their GP practice receive the very best clinical care.

Are you an autonomous clinical podiatrist ready to move into an FCP post and want to progress your career further with a supportive employer?

Or are you an established Band 7 who feels isolated in your current role and is excited at the prospect of working with a large professional peer support network?

If yes, then this is worth exploring.

Main duties of the job

You will be a fully HCPC and COP registered podiatrist, and able to demonstrate an extensive clinical practice portfolio including ongoing and relevant post-graduate academic CPD.

You will be a trailblazer and confident communicator who thrives from engaging with a variety of colleagues internally and within the PCN team you are integrated into.

In this role you will:

  • Safely diagnose, risk assess and triage, and provide advice and initiate treatment for complications of the foot and lower limb.
  • Request and use diagnostic imaging or other tests such as blood screening or urine analysis.
  • Supply or administer a range of medicinal products, and in some instances independently prescribe medicines.
  • Play a significant role in the public health and prevention agenda specifically around falls prevention, dermatology (malignant melanoma detection), diabetes prevention, cardiovascular risk reduction, medicines management, antibiotic stewardship and keeping people mobile and active.
