Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinical psychologist to develop and/or build upon existing neuropsychological and neurobehavioural skills and knowledge. St Peters Hospital is a 51-bedded neuropsychiatric hospital based in Langstone, Newport. It caters for people with organic conditions, including dementia, Huntingtons disease, alcohol-related brain damage, and acquired brain injury. The people we support and treat often present with behavioural and psychological symptoms, including behaviours that challenge. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven person to join our psychology team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will deliver psychological input across the hospital. The postholder will work alongside a comprehensive multidisciplinary team including Senior Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians and Physiotherapists. The department currently consists of 3.0 WTE Assistant Psychologists, 1WTE Clinical Psychologist and is overseen by a 0.5WTE Consultant Clinical Psychologist. You will have a key role in informing and providing effective, evidence-based care pathways within the service.
