Tower Hamlets is one of 5 pilots across the country delivering a workforce pilot to families in first 1001 critical days. We have 4 pathways and the pilot has been extended until 31st December 2025.
We are looking for an experienced Community Nursery Nurse join the team and work with the perinatal lead in supporting families where the parents are experiencing mild to moderate mental health.
The successful candidate will be experienced in child development and infant parent relationships and is looking to help make a difference in these families lives. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to make and maintain professional relationships.
This is a fixed term contract that ends 31 December 2025.
Main duties of the job
The main aim of the role is to assist women with perinatal mental
health conditions to care for their babies, ensure that the emotional and
physical needs of babies are met and engage in activities to promote the
mother-infant relationship working within the Tower Hamlets Family Hub team.
The post holder will understand the stages of development and assist
where difficulties are identified and empower families to be confident in their
parenting. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, utilising
skills and knowledge to support and advise mothers across all domains of caring
for their baby.
The post holder will provide a service to women experiencing perinatal
mental health conditions and their families as delegated by the Perinatal Lead
and will participate in the delivery of interventions under the direction of
the perinatal Lead.
The postholder will work in partnership with the family .
The majority of interventions are delivered in a community setting most
often in the womans home however the post holder will be expected to work in
various community settings including the wider community and assist the team in
supporting women being admitted to or discharged from inpatient Mother and Baby
Units.

- Support the
training programmes within the Family Hub pathway.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication skill which is sensitive
and enables parents to absorb and act on advice. Be able to keep clear and contemporaneous

back to the appropriate team member any significant changes in the client circumstances
that may impact on safety of others.
