We are looking for a dedicated Education Facilitator join the 0-19 Childrens universal service and help us work together to make Waltham Forest a better place for all.
We are dedicated to providing a vital service for parents and babies, addressing health inequalities, and working closely with our family hub partners to deliver a service that is innovative progressive and responsive to the needs of the community in which we work.
The successful candidate on
appointment will be involved in and leading on the engagement to recruit and
support SCPHN Students for 0-5/Health Visiting and the requirement to be
suitably qualified. You will be required to deliver the NMC Standards for
Student Supervision and Assessment role as a PA for these students working with
both Greenwich and City AEIs
You will be facilitating the
education infrastructure for the SCPHN students in Waltham Forest and
identification of benefits for SCPHN staff to deliver their SSSA role through
training, supervision and development in their post registration education
role, supporting high quality 0-19 service provision and securing growth of the
SCPHN Workforce in Waltham Forest. You will be working with other PEF
colleagues in WF and within THGPCG service provision in neighbouring
Borough of Tower Hamlets
Main duties of the job
Foster

Support
the recruitment and induction of Health Visiting staff
Support
the induction content and process for all newly appointed Health Visiting staff
Improve
the patient experience and care standards across the organisation by leading
and developing competency assessment documents
Actively
participate in national and corporate projects.
Demonstrate
a commitment towards the development of professional and clinical practice, self and others.
Lead
and ensure pastoral support for Health Visiting staff
Identify and
coordinate the nursing staff to undertake CPD activity appropriate to role in
collaboration senior nurse leaders and the Head of Nursing for Practice
Development & Education
Support with the
development of organisations strategy/career pathway for Health Visiting staff
in collaboration with stakeholders and Head of Service and workforce lead
Lead and develop
study days for Health Visiting staff in
line with organisational priorities

Ensure the provision of practice opportunities for
pre-registration and post-registration nursing students within The GP Care
Group
Establish systems for monitoring, reviewing, improving, and
reporting on the quality of the practice learning environment and the usage of
placements, Instigate new developments and initiatives for promoting inter-
professional learning opportunities for students in the practice setting.
Provide support to practice supervisors and assessors and maintain
a live register of current supervisors and assessors in line with
requirements of the NMC Standards for student supervision and assessment
(SSSA), promote and implement initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing the
quality of students practice experience.
To work innovatively cross-organisation as required to develop
placements inclusive of UTC and Primary Care
Promote quality assurance of the learning environment, ensuring
compliance with educational audit, monitoring and action planning constructive
evaluation feedback from learners and any concerns raised.
Function as primary point of contact for support of students and
their educators in resolving placement related issues, promoting tri-partite
communication with HEIs as required.
Work with Clinical/Operational Directors and 0-19/organisation
teams, to develop and facilitate improvements in educational and competency
standards and quality of care across the organisation.
To actively collaborate with clinical teams and system partners to
plan and facilitate learning experiences to meet the educational needs of those
seeking work placements, returning to practice, undertaking apprenticeships and
pre registration programmes and international staff transitioning to work
within the organisation.
To plan, implement and evaluate training and development
programmes within nursing to support the learning strategy for pre-registration
education standards.
To take the lead for preceptorship and Induction, actively
participating in the planning, delivery and evaluation of preceptorship and
induction, ensuring alignment to the frameworks with key partners.
To collate data returns as required in accordance with the NHS
Education Contract, including the quarterly student data collection tool to
confirm actual placement numbers and quality assurance monitoring.
