Job summary

Aim of the role

The post holder will provide management and leadership responsibility for the effective operational and clinical running for a portfolio of borough based universal and early intervention, or, targeted and specialist childrens services within Northeast London, ensuring effective clinical delivery and performance management against key performance indicators and financial targets.

The post holder is responsible for the continuous professional development and performance of all staff within their portfolio.

The post holder will work with the senior management team to deliver the vision of the Trust to provide a quality led service, which is best in class and helps patients to live the lives they want.

The role will have a 100% management function and will be expected to deputise for the Head of Service as required.

In addition to having operational management responsibility for all childrens services within their service portfolio, the Operational Lead will be required to take a cross borough leadership role within the defined service portfolio programme.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide operational management functions for 0-19 team.
  • To deliver effective clinical leadership and direction to the 0-19 Team within the Waltham Forest.
  • To support and develop the strategic direction for the service in line with national policies and locally identified health needs within defined role.
  • To support delivery of service transformation and development of integrated clinical care pathways in response to latest evidence-based practice, local strategic needs assessments and the requirements of commissioned contractual agreements.
  • To manage a range of processes and systems, across the service to support the effective running of the service and clinical care pathways.
  • To ensure harmonisation of quality care delivery across the service areas.
  • To lead the learning and development plan for services and ensure that developmental requirements are in place for all staff in line with the knowledge and skills framework.
  • To lead change management in the implementation of service development and transformation.
  • To create a culture in which innovative ideas can flourish and provide vision and inspiration to enable staff to deliver support effectively.
