Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has come up for a passionate educator to join our
pioneering Nursing Development ‘Open Doors’ service. Working closely with the
current team of Tutors and the Training Hub you will play a significant role in
the designing and delivery of high quality learning and development programme
for the clinical workforce in Primary Care.
The
post holder(s) will be supporting the development of the ongoing learning of
clinical primary care and social care staff across Tower Hamlets and beyond.

The
‘Open Doors’ service forms part of the Training Hub nursing development
programme based in the GP Care Group. The ‘Open Doors’ programme has been
running successfully in Tower Hamlets since May 2008. The aim is to extend and
enhance the current opportunities for education and training in Primary care
and beyond. The scope of education provision has expanded since the project
began: we now provide education for staff working with partner organisations
providing care for patients in Tower Hamlets in settings such as Care Homes,
Community Health Centres and Community Pharmacies.
Main duties of the job
- To develop clinical education programmes demonstrating a high level of mastery.
- Knowledge, skills and understanding of clinical assessment. The Clinical Tutor will have this level of skill to be able to deliver to the standard required.
- To design and facilitate training needs analysis on an annual basis to help understand education needs of the nursing and HCA workforce.
- To work cooperatively with the General Practice teams in the facilitation of education for Practice Nurses and other staff.

Essential
- Current NMC Registration.
- ENB 998/997 or recognized teaching qualification at level 3.
- Evidence of continued professional development at post graduate level.
- Recognized and recorded qualifications in relevant clinical areas pertinent to Practice Nursing.
- Specialist Practitioner (Practice Nursing) /advanced practice recognized and recorded qualification.
Experience
Essential
- Experience as a senior nurse in a General Practice setting.
- Minimum of approximately 1 year experience of teaching and mentoring a Practice Nurse or Health Care Support Worker.
- Experience of supporting Practice Nurses attending accredited University courses.
- Evidence of design and delivery of education and teaching programmes.
- Demonstration of leading/significant involvement in change management in a clinical setting.
- Effectively influenced practice in the clinical area.
- Evidence of evaluation, audit and research related to clinical practice.
