Job summary
The Light Surgery are looking for a Salaried GP to join their team! The GP role provides professional and clinical care in order to ensure the safe, effective and compliant delivery of services to all patients.
This is a permanent part time 20 hours per week job. The full time for us is 40 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Within this role you will be undertaking clinical and administrative sessions, making autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
On a standard day, you will manage patients with complex and long-term health conditions proactively, ensuring we are able to support our patients in staying well. You will also support the wider MDT by provider expert advice and guidance.
The GP will work alongside the Clinical Lead of the service, upholding clinical compliance, performing clinical audit and providing leadership and guidance.
The GP reports operationally to the Business Manager for operational matters such as rota planning, absence and appraisals.
The post holder will be working with a great local team and will have the support of the wider NHS Services Leadership team and our Support Centre teams as well.

About The Light Surgery
The Light Surgery is located in The Light; a leisure and retail centre in the heart of Leeds. Within The Light complex there is a cinema, gym and numerous restaurants. The ground floor of the building has car parking and The Light staff are eligible for discounted rates. The Light is a unique GP practice serving people who live or work in Leeds city centre. The majority of our patients are young professionals and families. Working at The Light Surgery is busy, challenging and rewarding. Our team is friendly, forward-thinking and supportive.
Clinical systems: We use SystemOne
What makes us different key practice details:
- All appointments are 15 minutes long
- To protect our staff and improve quality of care we limit formal patient contacts to a maximum of 27 contacts per day
- You will have protected break time and clinical administrative time rotad into your day
- Our centralised clinical administration team and medical secretaries support with workload
- Our innovative clinical model focuses on promoting wellbeing, personalised planned care and timely access to care for patients
