Job summary

We are looking to recruit a consultant dermatologist to work in our NHS and private clinic.

At St Michael's Clinic we offer an extensive dermatology service for NHS and private patients, run from the same community site in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

We have contracts with the local commissioners in Shropshire, Telford and into Wales to provide an NHS dermatology service to meet the skin needs of all of the local population. This includes out patient consultations, day case surgery, PDT, a full suite of lasers, biologics service, UVB and patch testing. We also provide a full and very busy private medical dermatology services for clients who are insured or self-paying.

Newly qualified consultants are supported to develop their skills, whether as a full time role in the clinic or as a mix of a part time at the clinic in addition to a part time role within an NHS Trust. We offer a unique opportunity of undertaking NHS and private work in the same role and in the same location, with a private practice that is well respected and always busy.

Both NHS and private work are mentored to support and help you understand starting up a private practice of your own if needed. We offer full administrative support.

We can provide flexible working and a great working environment - especially for new consultants or those coming to the end of their career.

We are offering a salary for the NHS role that is dependent on experience and that can be significantly enhanced by private income.
