Job summary

This role as an Assistant Psychologist at Gateway Recovery Centre offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills in a specialist level 2 rehabilitation service for individuals with complex mental health needs and comorbid conditions. You will have the chance to contribute to assessments, formulations, and therapeutic interventions, as well as engage in various clinically relevant administrative tasks under the supervision of a Practitioner Psychologist/Psychotherapist. Main duties of the job

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will be responsible for contributing to psychological assessments and formulations, facilitating psychological interventions on a 1:1 and/or group basis, assisting in designing and delivering specialist training, maintaining clinical databases, completing outcome measures, writing reports, and undertaking service evaluation and research tasks. You will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in a recovery-based, trauma-informed setting, supported by a multidisciplinary team.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have:

• A minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in Psychology conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) • Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist in a forensic and/or mental health setting in a similar role • Experience of maintaining office systems and undertaking administration tasks • Creative thinking, clinical efficacy, and a strong commitment to working with evidenced based models of therapeutic intervention • Strong organisation skills • Good interpersonal and communication skills • To meet professional practice expectations including the HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics, and the BPS code of ethics and conduct

You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence. The service is a recovery-based service and including trauma informed care, supported by individualised interventions. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.
