Job summary

This is a position for a Healthcare Assistant to work in a 16-bed specialist rehabilitation service for women with mental illness and/or personality disorder. The role involves providing care and support to the residents, with a focus on positive risk-taking, self-reliance, and building trust and self-esteem. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and friendly team in a culture built on kindness and teamwork.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to people with a range of mental health conditions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, the role is hugely rewarding, as you'll see people improve and know that you've made a positive difference in their lives.

 You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Location: Chesterfield Road, Alfreton, Derbyshire DE55 7DT    You will be working at Field House and Apartments - a 16 bed specialist rehabilitation service for women with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder.    The service offers a blended model of rehabilitation that combines a traditional rehabilitation environment with single and dual occupancy apartments, to provide a seamless care pathway for women with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and a history of trauma and/or attachment disorders.    You will work in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on positive risk taking which enables self-reliance and builds trust and self-esteem, with a focus on psychological input.
