Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will join an inclusive and supportive team to provide care to people with moderate learning disabilities, using your knowledge and skills to help them along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. However, it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

You will work on shifts, 7.5 hours a day, between the hours 7am - 2.30pm and 2pm- 10pm, including weekends on a rota basis

Where you will be working:

Location: 78 Park Road, Hampton Hill, Hampton, Middlesex, TW12 1HR You will be working at 78 Park Road, a service which provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will offer support to people as part of their care pathway. Whether it is moving from their community placement or a family home because they require more structured care and support.

In this role you will

This role would ideally suit a male support worker to assist the male residents in the most efficient manner, including the personal hygiene. 

  • Have strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature
  • Be willing to support residents with personal hygiene
  • Ideally be driver with a manual UK driver's license held for at least 3 years (to assist with the community visits and activities)
  • Have excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour
  • Deal with challenging behaviours
  • Have a positive and professional approach
  • Be reliable, flexible, hard-working and honest
  • Be local or within commutable distance

You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.
