Job summary

The Limes, a rehabilitation service for men with mental illness, is seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist at The Limes, you will be instrumental in promoting health and independence for the service users. You will demonstrate highly specialist expertise and skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaption, and the development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation. You will also manage a designated caseload, completing assessments, planning and implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will include:

  • Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporter/family members, stakeholders and agencies
  • Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants
  • Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
  • Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
  • To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways

To be a Successful Occupational Therapist you will need:

  • Occupational Therapy profession qualification
  • Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience with (service type) who have complex needs
  • Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
  • Demonstrates evidence highly effective clinical reasoning skills
  • Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
  • Knowledge of how to work with vulnerable individuals with mental illness.

You will be working at The Limes, a rehabilitation service for men with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder. The aim of the service is to equip the service user with the skills needed for community living and increased independence. 

You will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team with the aim to equip the service user with the skills needed for increased independence and community living. The service uses a unique Compassion Focussed model and has focuses its interventions on a recovery that is unique to each individual.
