Job summary
Role: Senior Assistant Psychologist Salary £26,000 pro rata, depending on experience Hours: Full time Location: The Forum School, Shillingstone, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 0QS Would you like to be part of a forward thinking and dynamic team, ensuring that high quality, psychological service is delivered to our students? We have a fantastic newly created position for a senior AP to join the team you must have at least 1 years experience in a previous Assistant Psychologist role. This role also has an additional responsibility of providing Therapeutic activities appropriate to students needs choices and interests under the supervision and guidance of the Specialist Occupational Therapist (OT).
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support the qualified psychologist and specialised SEN Occupational Therapist for a defined caseload of young people with Psychology and OT specified in their EHCP, you will provide psychological assessment interventions and assist in the implementation & delivery of agreed OT programmes & interventions with support from the OT Working autonomously, you will attend MDT student reviews, completes outcome measurements and care planning exercises for each student Taking a hands on approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. Our services have a specific focus on individuals who present with high severity needs. We provide a broad range of specialist services across England. These services include specialist education schools and colleges for both day and residential learners, residential care homes and a therapeutic fostering service. Our specialist education schools and colleges support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger Syndrome (AS), moderate to severe learning disabilities, associated challenging behaviours and complex needs. Our specialist residential care homes support children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and associated complex needs. We provide care, therapy and education for a discrete cohort of needs within these homes; this includes provisions for children who have experienced complex trauma (neglect and abuse), those who have been sexually exploited, and those with a learning disability. These homes are all supported by specialists schools to support their individual educational needs. We also run a therapeutic fostering service through which we are able to support children with a variety of complex needs within a family environment
