Job summary

Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist Education/College Salary: £27,555 pa Permanent: Full time 52 weeks of the year Location: Grateley School Grateley House School is a residential school for young people aged 11-19 years, who have a diagnosis of Autism or have strong emotional / behavioural traits of the Autistic Spectrum, typically high functioning Autism (Asperger Syndrome). The school can support young people with other associated difficulties such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia. Secondary mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression and its associated behaviours can also be accommodated when such difficulties occur as part of (but not in place of) an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). All young people in the school will have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Main duties of the job

You will work alongside a full multidisciplinary team including clinicians, care and Education staff. You will have opportunities to be part of the provision development and contribute to the improvement Occupational Therapy service. Working with guidance and supervision from the Highly Specialist OT you will provide quality assessments; reports and needs led interventions for young people and work with the school staff to embed strategies across the environment. Taking a hands-on approach, it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills.

These homes are all supported by specialists schools to support their individual educational needs. We also run a therapeutic fostering service through which we are able to support children with a variety of complex needs within a family environment

Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and RCOT Experience working ASD and/or Learning disabilities with young people/adults is required
