Our service
provides a 24/7 multidisciplinary care to patients requiring assessment and treatment if acute mental health presentations.You will be part of a supportive team that provides input to the three wards at
Battersea Bridge House Hospital.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the medical team to review patient's risks and formulate treatment plan. Individual and group sessions might be required based on the individual's needs.
Main duties of the job
Role and Responsibilities:
To be responsible for assessing and delivering brief evidence-based psychological interventions to patients admitted to Battersea Bridge House at individual and group level.
To contribute to the service development by conducting and encouraging reflective practice, case consultation and training.
To liaise with community teams/specialist services to facilitate transition to the community and make recommendations for psychological interventions.
To provide timely reports for patient reviews.
To maintain records necessary for the evaluation of service needs and efficiency and keep these records at Battersea Bridge House.
To undertake research relevant to the assessment of patients needs and developing appropriate treatment pathways and interventions.
Professional:
To ensure that clinical practice complies with codes of practice and guidelines.
To have the professional bodies registration such as HCPC and BPS.
To develop professional skills and competencies that will enhance the quality of the service being delivered.
To work in a positive and cooperative manner with patients, colleagues and any visitors.
To have an understanding of the 1983 Mental Health Act and registration requirements for the Unit and to work within the requirements of these.

To offer a high-quality psychology
service to people presenting with inpatient rehabilitation needs. To provide
specialist psychological assessment and therapy; offer advice and consultation
to non-psychology colleagues; use research skills for audit, policy &
service development and network across services to promote the delivery of integrated
care. Offering advice, training, reflective
practice and consultation to a range of stakeholders within and outside the
service.Providing a range of
evidence-based psychological assessments and therapies. Drawing on appropriate
outcome measures and neuropsychological assessments when required. Principal Duties: To be responsible for the systematic provision of
specialist assessments for peoplewith longer term serious mental illness who
are moving towards community placement.An emphasis on risk assessment and
relapse prevention is important in this process. To deliver high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic)
and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychological
interventions across both inpatient and community contexts by making autonomous
clinical decisions about own professional practice. To act as a person-centred leader and role model at
all times to inspire others into delivering high quality, dignified care for
people using services. To ensure the clinical effectiveness of your own
practice and the functioning of the service by undertaking audit, research and
service development activities relevant to the service area.

To develop comprehensive formulations of the person using services and his/her psychological environment by drawing on a range of psychological and theoretical perspectives (for example, the use of applied functional analysis). These shared understandings will need to be communicated to all stakeholders within the system.
To formulate and implement psychologically informed care plans that are tailored to the needs of people using services and correspond to best practice policies and relevant NICE guidelines.
to deliver, model and promote the use of evidence-based interventions that are recommended by research and policy guidelines. to keep up to date with relevant developments in the field of rehabilitation psychiatry, psychological therapy, neuropsychological assessment and professional issues pertaining to psychologists.
To
exercise autonomous, professional judgement and responsibility for the
psychological management of individuals who are on the post holders caseload.To
be responsible for providing a specialist psychological perspective in the
multi-disciplinary assessment of people using services, families and
carers.
