Main duties of the job

This role is designed for an experienced, GOC-registered Optometrist with a proven specialism in glaucoma and significant post-registration clinical experience. You will be confident working autonomously within advanced clinical pathways and managing patients with complex ocular disease. You will deliver high-quality, independent eye care, with acknowledged expertise in glaucoma assessment and management, alongside cataract surgery assessment. You will play a key role in shared-care and hospital-based services, ensuring patients fully understand their diagnosis, management options, and treatment outcomes, while providing continuity and reassurance throughout their clinical journey. As a Clinical Optometrist specialising in glaucoma, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary ophthalmic team to deliver safe, efficient, and evidence based care. You will contribute to service development, support clinical governance standards, and play an active role in delivering advanced optometric services within established glaucoma and cataract pathways.
