Advanced Nurse / Clinical Practitioner

AfC Band 8a

Are you an advanced clinical practitioner working in community or hospital-based services looking for your next challenge in a community environment that offers a better work-life balance?

Healthcare Central London is a federation, made up of NHS GP practices in central London. We are looking to increase our workforce and are keen for highly motivated and experienced advanced nurse / clinical practitioners to join our team. We understand the difference between acute and primary care services and are willing to support the right candidates who are keen to make the jump into primary care but feel they dont have the skills or experience required.

We provide services in Westminster that give patients a greater opportunity to see a healthcare professional when needed. This includes managing the local online-consultation service for Westminster practices, same-day access clinics for acute illnesses and enhanced access services which let patients see a nurse, ANP, pharmacist or GP during evenings and on Saturdays. Our ANPs currently work across all these services, seeing patients face to face as well as undertaking telephone triage and using advanced skills to remotely manage patients with minor illnesses.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will demonstrate courageous and critical thinking and is a caring, compassionate and committed experienced nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice and other clinical settings.
