Surgical Care Practitioner

London Bridge Hospital, London

Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday, shift working Permanent Salary: Competitive + shift allowance + Golden hello (T&C's apply)

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will lead a team of Anaesthetic practitioners working closely with scrub and recovery colleagues. You will have a strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures. You must be organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of supervising a multi-disciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload.

You will have a strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures.   • Registration as a healthcare professional (e.g. nurse or ODP) with a related honours degree
  • Recent experience in theatre nursing
  • 18 months working within a similar autonomous role is desirable.
  • An aptitude for clinical and operative practice
  • The ability to effectively manage the clinical area on a day to day basis and plan ahead
