Role: Paediatric Site Practitioner

Site: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children

Full time permanent: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Evenings, nights, two weekends per month 9% shift enhancement

We're looking for a Paediatric Site Practitioner to join The Portland Hospital, currently rated Good by the CQC and the UKs only private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children. Our team of Paediatric Site Practitioners offer 24/7 cover across our wards, supporting with the assessment and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating paediatric patients, escalating as appropriate into HDU/PICU.

Main duties of the job

As a Paediatric Site Practitioner, you'll provide a visible clinical presence around the site, acting as a role model and expert practitioner. We'll look to you to use your advanced nursing skill to co-ordinate resources and work closely with on-site Duty Managers.

Day-to-day you'll be involved in the in the PICU step-down process and support with bed allocation as a key member of the Clinical Emergency Team. Out of hours, you'll be part of Paediatric Hospital at Night Team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patients needs .It is a varied role, but if you can bring us the in-depth clinical knowledge we need then we can offer a career with ongoing development, including a structured, competency-based development programme supported by the Lead Paediatric Site Practitioner and Head of Clinical Operations.
