Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our apprenticeship programme and train to become a Biomedical Scientist.

Biomedical scientists work in healthcare laboratories diagnosing diseases and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment by analysing fluids and tissue samples from patients. They provide the 'engine room' of modern medicine - 70% of diagnoses in the NHS are based on pathology results provided by laboratory services.

The starting salary will be £27,006 with all university tuition fees paid for by the organisation.

Main duties of the job

You will join the organisation as an apprentice trainee biomedical scientist. During the period of 4 years, you will complete a part-time IBMS (Institute of Biomedical Science) accredited BSc Hons Applied Biomedical Science degree whilst working in one of our pathology laboratories. Youll be supported through a comprehensive training programme to gradually build up your knowledge and skill set to achieve HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration as a Biomedical scientist via completion of the IBMS Registration Portfolio.
