Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated bank Health Care Assistant to join our team at LivingCare Sheffield. The role will consist of supporting the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care in the Outpatients and Imaging department.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting the clinical team to deliver high quality care to patients and their families.
  • Support with auditing and stock checks as required.
  • Participate in regular meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Undertake skill set appropriate tasks as required.
  • To assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products.
  • Have an awareness of the waste management policy and ensure that it is adhered to.
  • To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the clinic are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.
  • To assist and support the clinical team and clerical staff in administrative duties as required.
  • Use the Health Care Assistant competency framework to enhance and develop skills in the clinical area.
  • Moving and handling practices should be safe and as taught in training.
  • Keeping up to date with mandatory training.
  • Continuous effective communication to patients, staff and the wider MDT.
  • Reporting and investigating incidents, near misses and complaints, escalating issues to the Clinical Services Manager and implementing changes when necessary.
  • Ensuring the clinical environment is safe for staff and patients and following the process for escalation if there are risks to the health and safety of staff and patients.
  • Working independently and as part of a team.
