Job summary

Due to the continuing growth and expansion of Hobbs specialist neurological services we are looking to recruit new staff to join our existing teams across various sites and professions.

We are looking to expand the number of beds we already have at our specialist inpatient service at Laverstock Care Centre in Salisbury, offering patient-led, intensive MDT rehab to a range of clients with neurological conditions, utilizing the latest neuro technology alongside clinically led hands-on treatments to help people recover from illness and injury and achieve their goals.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Clinical Service Lead for this new service. This role will lead the MDT, providing clinical and strategic leadership, liaising with senior management, and supporting the patient journey. The successful applicant will work clinically within the service, so needs to be a qualified neuro-specialist therapist. Salary will be dependent upon experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Work clinically as a highly specialist neurological therapist within your profession, undertaking assessments of potential new admissions, planning treatment, providing expert therapy and discharge planning to a range of clients
  • Provide daily leadership for the clinical and administrative team on the ground at Laverstock, including close professional working with care staff
  • Strategic leadership and management of the service, including patient flow, liaison with our NHS and care home partners, monitoring of clinical quality and trouble-shooting any issues that arise, working along side Hobbs senior management team to ensure smooth and effective running of the service
  • Clinical supervision and line management duties for staff from a range of clinical and non-clinical professions
  • Support for and involvement in research and development projects across Hobbs in collaboration with the MiNT Academy

The successful candidate will work with clients in our inpatient setting predominantly but may have the opportunity to see outpatients as well as community patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical duties:

Assessing patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments using a range of formal and informal assessments.

Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.

Formulate patient-centred goals in conjunction with MDT.

Create and provide one-to-one intervention to patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options.

Evaluate patients progress using published outcome measures.

Liaising regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.

Organise and plan the MDT therapy caseload at Laverstock Neuro rehab unit in conjunction with other clinical team members to meet the patients and service needs, readjusting plans as situations change or arise.

Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical notes using site-specific software and local procedures.

Write high-quality patient reports, including MDT discharge reports for inpatients.

Attend and contribute to patient and family meetings, both face-to-face and via video.
