We are excited to be setting up this brand new service in the grounds of the stunning Chedington Estate in Dorste. We will have a range of fully accessible, luxury independent living accommodation with state-of-the-art facilities, including gyms and hydro pools, with access to adaptive sporting opportunities across the estate. We will provide bespoke intensive rehabilitation packages to adults and children with a range of conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, poly-trauma and amputation and other neurological conditions, utilizing the latest neuro technology alongside clinical excellence in neurological and amputee rehab and complimentary therapeutic activities such as massage and adaptive sports.

We are recruiting an experienced clinical service lead to manage the new service and clinical team at Chedington. We are looking for professionals who bring not only expertise in their field but also a compassionate, client-focused approach, with a passion for rehabilitation.

You will lead a dynamic and supportive team that works collaboratively to deliver thehighest standard of specialist rehabilitation for spinal cord injury, neurological,trauma and amputee clients.

Main duties of the job

  • Work clinically as a highly specialist neurological therapist within your profession, undertaking assessments of potential new admissions, planning treatment, providing expert therapy and discharge planning to a range of clients
  • Provide daily leadership for the clinical and administrative team on the ground at Chedington, including close professional working with a range of staff from different professions and external organisations
  • Strategic leadership and management of the service, including patient flow, liaison with our stakeholders and clinical partners, monitoring of clinical quality and trouble-shooting any issues that arise, working along side Hobbs senior management team to ensure smooth and effective running of the service
  • Clinical supervision and line management duties for staff from a range of clinical and non-clinical professions
  • Support for and involvement in research and development projects across Hobbs in collaboration with the MiNT Academy

In 2005, neuro physiotherapists Helen Hobbs and Nicky Ellis set up Hobbs Rehabilitation and since then it has expanded offering an exceptional level of personalised skill and expertise. The successful candidate will work with clients in our exciting new residential neuro rehab setting predominantly, but may have the opportunity to see outpatients as well as community patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical duties:

Assessing patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments, including brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputation, using a range of formal and informal assessments.

Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.

Formulate patient-centred goals in conjunction with MDT.

Create and provide one-to-one intervention to patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options.

Evaluate patients progress using published outcome measures.

Liaising regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.

Organise and plan the MDT therapy caseload at Chedington in conjunction with other clinical team members, and external clinical partners, to meet the patients and service needs, readjusting plans as situations change or arise.

Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical notes using site-specific software and local procedures.

Write high-quality patient reports, including MDT discharge reports for inpatients.

Attend and contribute to patient and family meetings, both face-to-face and via video.
