Due to the continuing
growth and expansion of Hobbs specialist neurological services we are looking
to recruit new staff to join our existing teams across various sites and
professions.
We are
looking for skilled and dynamic Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists,
Neuropsychologists Speech and Language Therapists and Rehab Assistants with a
passion for neurological rehabilitation and clinical excellence across the
following exciting developments:
Laverstock Inpatient Rehab Service in Salisbury
We
are looking to expand the number of beds we already have at our specialist
inpatient service, offering patient-led, intensive MDT rehab to a range of
clients with neurological conditions, utilizing the latest neuro technology
alongside clinically led hands-on treatments to help people recover from
illness and injury and achieve their goals.
We will be recruiting PTs, OTs,
SLTs, Neuropsychologists and RAs to support these additional beds to work
alongside our experienced existing MDT. Positions available for staff with a
range of experience from newly-qualified onwards.

Main duties of the job
The role will include assessment and treatment for a caseload of neurological patients with both physical and cognitive impairments. The role will be within a very supportive MDT working towards a range of rehabilitation goals, participating in family meetings, MDTs and discharge planning.

In 2005, neuro physiotherapists Helen Hobbs and Nicky Ellis set up Hobbs Rehabilitation and since then it has expanded offering an exceptional level of personalised skill and expertise. Now operating from a number of locations, Hobbs Rehabilitation provides specialist inpatient and outpatient neurological rehabilitation for adults and children across the south of England, treating a wide variety of conditions, including stroke, acquired brain injury and spinal cord injuries. An expert team of over 100 therapists, including OT, PT, SLT and Psychology, provide an interdisciplinary patient-centred neuro rehabilitation service, ensuring the individual is placed at the centre of care.

The successful candidate will work with clients in our inpatient setting predominantly but may have the opportunity to see outpatients as well as community patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessing patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments using a range of formal and informal assessments.
- Practice safely within the legal and ethical boundaries of the profession.
- Formulate patient-centred goals in conjunction with MDT.
- Create and provide one-to-one intervention to patients with acquired physical and cognitive impairments, using a comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed practice and treatment options.
- Evaluate patients progress using published outcome measures.
- Liaising regularly with the Hobbs MDT and wider care team.
- Organise and plan the MDT therapy caseload at Laverstock Neuro rehab unit in conjunction with other clinical team members to meet the patients and service needs, readjusting plans as situations change or arise.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical notes using site-specific software and local procedures.
- Write high-quality patient reports, including MDT discharge reports for inpatients.
- Attend and contribute to patient and family meetings, both face-to-face and via video.
